August 7, 1915, Saturday

Vienna–Marienbad. Bruno Schulz, together with his sister and nephew, leaves Vienna and goes to the health resort.

They depart for Marienbad* from the Emperor Franz Joseph Railway Station (Franz-Joseph Bahnhof) at 8:25 am. The road to the west runs through Budejovice, Pilsen and Prague. If the journey goes smoothly, they reach their destination according to the timetable, that is, at 16:39 1. Perhaps the journey takes a different course, as the family has not registered at the Königsvilla guest house until August 9*.

Schulz visits a well-known resort probably for therapeutic purposes 2, but the trip could also be related to his sister’s health, since all three register at the guest house under her surname 3. (js) (mo) (transl. mw)
