Vienna. Bruno Schulz checks in at Kaiserstraße 48.

He moved to the apartment no. 66, located on the second floor of an Art Nouveau tenement house at Kaiserstraße 481. The reasons for the change of place of residence are unknown, but Schulz stayed in Vienna’s eighth district Josefstadt. (js) (transl. ms)

The registration form filled in by Schulz, under the heading “family members”, lacked the name of his nephew, Zygmunt Hoffmann*, who came with his uncle to Vienna. It is possible that the boy was taken by someone else back to Drogobych or remained in Vienna with other relatives.
