Warsaw. Bruno Schulz writes an application to the Director of the Central Statistical Office for a sick leave for Józefina Szelińska.

Several days after her suicide attempt, he handwrites the application, in which – on behalf of Szelińska* – he applies for convalescent leave due to a recent illness. It is unknown whether Schulz himself offered to help or whether he was asked to do that.

Szelińska presents the application prepared by Schulz with the attached doctor’s note.  She extends the convalescent leave in February, March, July, and August. She will never return to her job in the office and will terminate the contract on 31 December 1937. (rb) (transl. ms)
