Drogobych. Bruno Schulz receives a book from Professor Stefan Szuman.
Schulz begins a letter to Szuman* of 24 November 1933* with words of thanks. “Thank you very much for the book. I did not expect such a large volume, I am glad and with real pleasure I will sit down to read”1. The passage does not refer to the volume of poems Drzwi uchylone published by Szuman under the pseudonym Łukasz Flis. Schulz thanked the author for that poetic book in a letter of 22 October*. In 1933, Szuman also published two books in psychology: Rozwój psychiczny dzieci i młodzieży [Psychic Development of Children and Adolescents] (247 pages)2 and a work written together with Józef Pieter and Henryk Weryński: Psychologia światopoglądu młodzieży: idealizm, filozofia, religia [Psychology of the Worldview of Youth: Idealism, Philosophy, Religion] (474 pages)3. Considering Schulz’s attention to the large volume of the book sent, it can be assumed that he received the latter publication. (mr) (transl. mw)
