Jerzy Ficowski publishes a poem “Drohobycz 1920” devoted to “the memory of Bruno Schulz” in his poetic volume Śmierć jednorożca.
The poem1 refers to fetishist motifs in Schulz’s work and is a poetic representation of the idolatry scenes known from Schulz’s prints and drawings. The text was reprinted in selections of Ficowski’s poems: Wskazówki dla początkujących zegarów. Wiersze z lat 1945–19842 and Gorączka rzeczy3. The poem was also included by Ficowski in his books devoted to Schulz. The poem “Drohobycz 1920”, published in 1986, appears as a poetic gloss for the essay “Feretron z pantofelkiem”4 in the 1986 book Okolice sklepów cynamonowych. In Regiony wielkiej herezji i okolice.
