Warsaw. The 53–54 issue of Wiadomości Literackie publishes a short story by Bruno Schulz entitled Dead Season.
Wiadomości Literackie*, as in the previous year, assigned Schulz’s story to the Christmas issue, which indicated the writer’s growing popularity among readers. Dead Season came out without illustrations. Schulz included the story in the finished volume of Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass*, which would be published by Rój in November 1937. The magazine and book versions of the text differ in nearly a hundred places. As in Wiadomości Literackie, there are no illustrations. (sr) (transl. mw)
