Vienna. The family of Izydor Schulz is transferred to the ninth district of the city – Alsergrund.

Izydor Schulz’s registration card* shows that since 1 June, he and his family were registered in the city ninth district, Alserstraße 421. Bruno Schulz lived nearby2. He was definitely visiting his brother’s wife Regina (Izydor spent two days at the frontline in Kosmacz3), his five-year-old nephew Wilhelm and niece Ella, one and a half years old. It was likely that Izydor consciously moved the family from the remote Gross-Jedlersdorf district to Alsergrund before leaving for the front. Leaving a pregnant wife with two small children, he probably counted on the help of his siblings4 and expected that the family would stay together in a difficult situation. (js) (transl. ms)
