Drohobych. Ludwik Misky, inspector of the Lviv school district, asks the board of the Władysław Jagiełło Middle School in Drohobych for information about Bruno Schulz.
Misky’s official move is preceded by Schulz’s efforts to get a job at the school.
Misky probably finds out that Schulz is about to start working as a teacher of drawing, although he may as well know it thanks to his personal acquaintance with him. Officially, the board would not send Schulz’s personal list until September 5*, when he is employed1.
The inspector is a painter and a graphic artist. He has known Schulz at least since the joint exhibition at the middle school in May 1921*. See also: September 5, 1924*, August 9, 1924*. (kw) (transl. mw)
