Drohobych. The school inspector Ludwik Misky positively reviews Bruno Schulz’s application for a teaching job.
Unable to assess the pedagogical abilities of Schulz, who has not yet worked in education, Misky points to “his spectacular artistic abilities”. He mentions appointing him as a teacher in 1921, when Schulz eventually did not take up the position, and that he could only be employed on a contract basis. He adds that in the Jagiełło Middle School there are already 20 hours of teaching a week awaiting the candidate.
Misky knows Schulz’s works not only because of his duties in the school district. On May 22, 1921, the artists participated in the same exhibition*; they mingle with the same artistic milieu.
