Vienna. After more than twelve months in Vienna, Bruno Schulz leaves for Drogobych.

He departed from the North Station* by the Emperor Ferdinand Northern Railway (Kaiser Ferdinands-Nordbahn) towards Lviv, and from there went to Drogobych. The road, 840 kilometres long, ran through Brno and Kraków. It is impossible to determine when exactly Schulz started his journey, but it should not have taken more than twenty hours1. The journey by rail from the North Station in Vienna to Kraków took thirteen and a half hours. The distance between Kraków and Lviv was covered in about five and a half hours. Drogobych is only 85 kilometers away from Lviv, which made about an hour’s drive more (Waldheim’s Kondukteur, Fahrpläne der österreichischen, ungarischen und bosnisch-herzegowischen Eisenbahnen und Dampfschiffe mit einer Eisenbahnkarte, Ausgabe Nov. 1915 – April 1916, p.
